I happen to like dry shampoo. It gets me an extra day between shampoos and it adds volume and texture to my hair (which has absolutely none). I think it's one of the greatest things on earth. But for anyone who is not blonde, dry shampoo hasn't been the greatest. Why? Because dry shampoos typically use talc, starch, or other white powders to absorb oil. And no matter how much you try to brush it out, it leaves a dulling, white tinge to dark hair.
