Santana Row, San Jose, CA--a fabulous destination spot for shopping, dining, and just hanging out and people watching.  One of my favorite places to stop is Smith Alder on Olin Avenue, across from Starbucks and Maggiano's.

What's so great about this shop?  Well, you have to check their website to see everything, but here's what I like.

It's art to wear.  You will find some of the most interesting clothing--beautiful drape, wonderful fabrics and colors, attention to detail. 

Some of their designers--Oska (got 3 pieces in my hard-to-find Related White), Blanque, Margaret O'Leary--to name just a few.  These designers operate from small studios where they can control the quality of their work.  And they can offer some made to order items.

Accessories!!!  I'm an accessory collector.  You'll find unusual scarves,designer hand-crafted jewelry, shoes and bags.

Mother and daughter, Paula and Jessica.  Two of the most helpful, friendly women you'll ever find.  And while you're there, pick up Paula's jazz CD and listen to her wonderful voice.
