London Fashion Scene--Spring 2010

I just got back from 5 days in London.  Here's what the London Sunday Times Style writer Gemma Soames is showing as the Spring trends in accessories.

For shoes, the clog is back.

We'll continue to see the 5 inch stiletto, bumore elegant than previous seasons.

And, hallelujah, the best shoe for spring is a mid-sized heel.  Gemma is calling them "Le Petit Stiletto."  Sensible, but still sexy.

The final shoe trend is the summer boot--ankle or mid-calf, suede, and fringed.

Handbags.  Well, you won't need to use your hands to carry these bags.  Gemma is seeing across-the-body bags and, gasp!, the return of the fanny pack, or as she calls it, the bum bag.  But we're talking some haute couture bum bags, like Vuitton.

It's no longer just OK to have a baseball cap, now it's the utility cap.  Plain, like the one here, or camoflague.

To go with your hat, sunglasses--big with bright neon colors.

Crystal necklaces will be seen in Spring 2010.  Gemma calls them "big, bold, and a tennsy bit vulgar."

And look for summer scarves to be spring trend.  They're also be big and bold, just out of cotton instead of heavy wool.
