I found an interesting article on what scientists say about cosmetics.  Physical attractiveness is a factor in mate selection and cosmetics help in this area of life.  But cosmetics also help in the job market.  Wearing makeup can increase your earnings and promotions.

Here's what the scientists suggest you do to increase your biological attractiveness.

To create a healthy look, use concealer, foundation, and powder to get an even skin tone.

Want to look younger?  Contour around the nose to make it look smaller.   Also, emphasize the eyes to make them look larger--more baby-like.

The skin around the eyes is darker in women (even without eye makeup) than in men.  So to look more feminine, add more eyeshadow, liner, and mascara.

And women's lips tend to be naturally darker than men's lips.  Red lips signify sexual arrousal and lush lips signify fertility.  All are great for attracting men.
