Wondering if color is really important? I took the following quote from an email to me from Kristy Hawke. It's about the Nevada Women's Expo and the article is entitled "Tips to Trade Show Success."
"7. Booth Design. You have three seconds to make an impression on those walking past your display. Your visuals and graphics must be large and bright, while simply and clearly communicating -- in as few words as possible -- the benefits of your product. ........

What comes to mind when you think of blue and red? Republicans and Democrats? Yes. Red power tie to show you're in charge? Yes. Blue shirt to show you are a team player? Yes, again. What about creativity vs. detail? Probably not. But a recent article in the San Jose Mercury News (February 5, 2009) discusses research that looks into psychological effect of color.

My Leads Club had a speaker this morning on branding. Lots and lots of useful information. But one thing he mentioned that struck home is that, as a small business owner or sole proprietor, our personal image is part of our brand. That's exactly what I have been saying for a couple years.
